I attended a private catholic school during peak “beepers are cool”. I was the poor family whose kids attended on scholarship/work study, but all my freinds were children of doctors, lawyers etc. Everyone wanted to have beepers and look like the cool gangster/drug dealers making gritty rap songs etc etc. But none of their parents would allow them to get them. So being the true rebels they were, they’d jsut borrow/steal their dads beeper to wear around at school and show off. It would be hilarious if they ever got a page, and panicked becuse they had to run to the office and call their dad to let him know.
