The first time I went into a clock tower, I was blown away to see that all four clock faces were controlled by the same relatively tiny mechanism. One small clock with four shafts that extend in each direction to control each face. Still not sure if it’s a shaft inside of another shaft to control both hands..? Also, the bells in that clock tower were no longer in use, they instead played the bell sounds through a speaker system.
Kind of underwhelming all around, but a neat peak behind the scenes.
It doesn’t get more quintessentially British than this.
Big Ben is the bell! The tower which houses the clock is the “Elizabeth Tower”
Ummmm excuse me, I was promised classy boobs on this sub.
That doesn’t look at all like a bell.
…been there and the bells above it, pretty amazing
I assume that the man here is Small Ben.
Must be tiring for him to have to manually move the minute and hour hand every single day.
Working around the clock to save face.
