  2. I absolutely don’t care about baseball – nobody plays it in my country.
    Yet I absolutely adore this film, and especially James Earl Jones’ performance is stellar and heartwarming. RIP Mr Mann…

  3. Saw someone say years ago – and it is true – that if you ever want to see a grown man cry, baseball fan or not, play him this movie.

    It is damn near perfect, and brought even more to life because of his performance right here.

  4. One of my favorite lines from any movie ever, at least partly due to Jones’ delivery, is “You’re seeing a whole team of psychiatrists, aren’t you.”
