Whether you call her Arab or Palestinian, the reality is that these people existed, thriving within a vibrant urban society—contrary to the Zionist movement’s claim at the time of “a land without people for a people without land.”
I love this photo but I’m not sure that this is a historic photo. Some elements of the styling to me feel quite modern compared to Palestinian garb from that time. I haven’t been able to find a source either (just a few posts on social media)
She looks so happy and proud! ❤️
Amazing. Can you provide a reference to the source?
She’s beautiful. I hope she lived a peaceful life with her son.
Holy cow this is stunning
She looks so young.
her frames are so thin you can barely tell she’s wearing glasses

Wow, they have such a sad future ahead of them.

there was no palestinian ethnicity at that time. she was arab.
Arab* .Palestine ethnicity wasn’t shaped yet in 1920s.
Palestine ftw
It’s sad when you think about the fact that her lineage has probably been wiped out. just like that.
British mandate for Palestine, it wasn’t until mid 1960’s arabs started calling themselves Palestinians.
That’s a beautiful picture, she looks happy and the baby sleeping peacefully
Give me strength….
I wonder who he grew up to be bless him. I’d love to know her life story – she looks so happy ❤️
Mary and Jesus, is that you?
At the beginning of 1920 she was an Arab from the Ottoman empire and at the end of 1920 she was a proud Palestinian.
I believe they are Arabs. Not sure what tribe though.
Funny, if you go back in time and meet this woman and call her Palestinian she would not understand you, it was name for Jews.
British mandate. Not Palestine.
She look no older than 19
Life before they came in their boats
