Someone just blew my mind today in that the Addams whole schtick is that they are subversive and weird (especially for the 30’s in the original comic), so the idea that Gomez is madly in love with his wife after years of marriage is the opposite of what would be considered “normal” for the time.
I always figured that it was just a character quirk that their family dynamic is more normal than they let on.
Here are two fantastic people. Not to ignore Angelica but I have to call out Raul’s talent. I don’t believe anyone gave him enough credit when he was alive. His performances were so amazing and diverse it was hard to remember he was an actor and not the characters he portrayed.
Ive heard that name many times and totally know her face too I just genuinely didn’t know that was her and put them together. She’s been a totally different lady in my head for many years.
I recall seeing Raul Julia on Conan telling a story about how his eyeball popped out for some reason and he had to just pop it back in himself. Some real life Addams Family stuff there…
