  1. This was my comment at r/70s:

KK was kind to Sinéad O’Connor when she was getting hollered at during her song at that Bob Dylan concert. He told her not to let the bastards get her down. I will always appreciate him for that encouragement.

  2. Saw him live about 8 years ago. Just him and a guitar. He was wearing running shoes. He played for 45 minutes. Said he was going to take a break. Came back after 10 minutes and I thought he’d play for another 20 minutes tops. He played another 40 minutes or so. I took my father in law who was just a few years younger. When Kris played Me and Bobbie McGee I looked at my FIl and he was crying.

  3. He wrote a fantastic song about her, Sister Sinead. Godspeed both of them, that kind of moral courage seems rare today.

Anyone remember how Joe Pesci ranted about her and said he wanted to slap her because she “insulted” the Pope? Yeah, fuck that guy.

  4. I’m not into either or these two artist’s music but just imagine Kris Kristofferson a legend of the music world coming out on stage to comfort & support you!

You’d feel like you could take on the world!

  6. Kristofferson, the only person at a rock concert besides Sinead that remembered rock and roll is not about pop rock bullshit, but about protesting against The Man, and protesting the head of a global child trafficking, child porn, child molesting ring like the Catholic church is about as rock and roll as it gets.

  7. Two people that have more courage than Madonna, Joe Pesci, Loren Michaels, and all the people that attacked her and defended the Pope.

The Catholic Church should strip Pope JP2 of his sainthood. He would be burning in hell for what he let happen

  8. RIP Kris Kristofferson.
But, as always, there’s more than one side to this story.
I remember an interview with Sinéad in Q magazine not long after where she suggested that she found his attempt to support her patronising. Years later, on Twitter, she alluded to them having a brief affair.
This was her response when this picture was shared by a fan on Twitter ( posting as @magdadavitt77)
“I would not agree Kris wasn’t toxically masculine. He took full advantage when he got the chance and then immediately turned nasty…”
He may have been trying to do the right thing at the time but the response might not have been one you’d have expected. Only Kris and Sinéad would know what really happened.
