On January 19, 1981, heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali was so upset when he learned that a Vietnam veteran was going to commit suicide near his house that he rushed to the scene just four minutes later and personally saved the man. He then escorted the veteran to the hospital.
Never heard of this before. Wow
I’ve never heard this before. Compassionate man.
hero!
The anguish on that man’s face is excruciating. Damn.
Real life Super Hero!!
Reinforcing again why Muhammad Ali is my #1 personal hero.
He’s the greatest
Do we know who this man was? Did he ultimately get the help he needed?
Because that’s what good people do.
The GOAT
I got to meet him in the 90s at a hospital in Grand Rapids where I worked. He was there to raise money for kids that were severely and or terminally ill. He was very very nice. He gave me a fake punch like he was going to go in for a right hook LOL
