I dragged my wife to a sit down Pizza Hut a few years ago and it was just like I left it in 1985. Same smells same tables same everything. I know it’s gone downhill but the nostalgia won the day.
Those red cups and red-and-white checked laminate table covers always made me happy as soon as I sat down, because I knew good pizza and pitchers of soda were coming.
My grade school was a block from Pizza Hut in a small town. We had the Book-It program. If you brought a note from your parents, you could go there for lunch and turn in your Book-It card door the Personal Pan Pizza. Yay 80’s. I can’t imagine a school letting a 3rd grader walk to a restaurant for lunch on their own now.
Local “pizza parlors” were AWESOME back in the 70s and 80s. We had a Shakey’s near us growing up that had a full bar, arcade, great music. It was great. First place I ever played Mortal Kombat on an arcade machine (and that was sadly in the final years of that location).
Pizza Hut/Book club program taught me how to speed read. Growing up, pretty dam poor pizza was a luxury and that program got me that pizza at least once a week. Still remember that personal deep dish crust.
Pizza Hut was the shit until the early 90s
Got to love the red cups.

80s kid here. Man Pizza Hut with personal pan pizza and the never ending salad bar and sodas, we were kings I tell ya!
👆👆this! It was something special when dad loaded us up into the station wagon and we went here.

It was the exact same vibe in the 90s
Tom Cruise’s brother chilling
For me in the nineties it was Olive Garden. Going there now feels like going to McDonald’s.
Pizza Inn was even better!
that shaker of hot peppers brings back memories
The buffet was amazing, too. I loved to go and just eat everything except the salad! 🤣
I can smell this picture and feel the weight of the pepper dispenser.
You should come to the Weaverville, NC location when they open back up.
It was still good in the 90s, man that smell while waiting for your pizza was the best ever. I think they could still make a comeback.
