  1. I dragged my wife to a sit down Pizza Hut a few years ago and it was just like I left it in 1985. Same smells same tables same everything. I know it’s gone downhill but the nostalgia won the day.

  2. Those red cups and red-and-white checked laminate table covers always made me happy as soon as I sat down, because I knew good pizza and pitchers of soda were coming.

  3. My grade school was a block from Pizza Hut in a small town. We had the Book-It program. If you brought a note from your parents, you could go there for lunch and turn in your Book-It card door the Personal Pan Pizza. Yay 80’s. I can’t imagine a school letting a 3rd grader walk to a restaurant for lunch on their own now.

  4. Local “pizza parlors” were AWESOME back in the 70s and 80s. We had a Shakey’s near us growing up that had a full bar, arcade, great music. It was great. First place I ever played Mortal Kombat on an arcade machine (and that was sadly in the final years of that location).

  5. It was still good in the 90s, man that smell while waiting for your pizza was the best ever. I think they could still make a comeback.

  6. Pizza Hut/Book club program taught me how to speed read. Growing up, pretty dam poor pizza was a luxury and that program got me that pizza at least once a week. Still remember that personal deep dish crust.
