Looks like me when i was about 10. Long hair, no shirt, bell bottom levis, spider bike with banana seat but monkey handle bars. I remember popping a wheelie like that , rode it about half a block, lost control and my front wheel punched a hole in the door (fiberglass) of someones new corvette. I was out of there like lightning. Stayed away from that part of the neighborhood for a while.
The bike had a front shock. Was that rare in the 70s?
Used to ride wheelies on my Raleigh Gran Prix, don’t now how those rims survived.
Lucky bugger. I do remember them. Yet they were very rare.
I bent or broke so many sets of forks doing mono’s.
I bet he is on a banana seat too.

Summers back when? I spent every summer trying to learn how to really pop a wheelie
Yup. That’s about right.
In my family, we didn’t have money for banana bikes, but those were popular in my neighborhood. Banana bikes, 10 speeds, poppin’ wheelies… Ah, summer!
“You willingly went outside???”
